In December 2020 another interpretation board was added to the sea front at Stokes Bay. You can see it as you walk along the promenade from the splash park towards the Sailing club. It is next to the blue telescope.
Designed by Ann Bevan, the board gives an interpretation of the view across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight with an explanation of each of the twelve features that can be seen from this point. It starts with Fort Gilkicker which dominates the easterly point of the Bay and ends at Browndown point with Browndown Battery and No.2 Battery and the diving museum.
